SHEP Community of Practice
Connecting – Learning – Sharing
Training and Supports for Practitioners working through the Project
SHEP is committed to developing the Project as a ‘community of practice’.
Practice is a shared history of learning. Practice is conversational. Communities of Practice’ are groups of people who share a concern (domain) or a passion for something they do and learn how to do it better (practice) as they interact regularly (community). Etienne Wenger
Innovative Support & Learning Spaces
In line with our commitment to creating spaces for connecting, learning and sharing among our facilitators we support a number of processes for particular groups of practitioners.
Supervision
Each year we organise a large number of supervision supports for our practitioners, in line with our commitment to good practice and our policy on Supervision.
On-going Process Work
An important on-going process is a twice yearly process facilitated by Richard Wallstein. This group is currently closed.
Workshops
Each year we organise a variety of CPD courses and workshops for all the practitioners working through the Project facilitators, community tutors, advocates and Coisceim counsellors and psychotherapists – according to training needs arising and areas of common interest.
